Tourism and Climate Change in Central Cuba |

Havana.- The central Cuban province of Sancti Spíritus links the confrontation with climate change with the development of the leisure industry.
In the case of the Ancón-La Boca peninsula, both the reefs and the mangroves are a barrier against sea penetration and contribute to the development of tourism in the area.
Together with this, the mangrove also functions as a habitat for many species and it can mitigate some of the effects of climate change on the beaches.
Trinidad has been a Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 1988 and qualifies as one of the main tourist destinations in Cuba, with one of the best preserved architectural structure from the Spanish colonial era in the Americas.
Trinidad also holds the Ancón, María Aguilar and La Boca beaches, in conjunction with the Club Amigo Ancón, Village Costasur and Memories Trinidad del Mar hotels.
