Costa Cruises Suspends Operations in South America
Monday, September 14, 2020

New York.- The shipping company Costa Cruises cancelled its operations in the South American market during the 2020-2021 season.

According to executives, for safety reasons for the population, passengers and crew members, the decision was made due to the existing health situation in Brazil and Argentina.

Experts evaluated the possibility of transferring the ship Costa Fascinosa from Europe to Brazil to fulfill local itineraries in this country.

In late 2019, the shipping company announced the activation of three ships in the South Atlantic for the 2020-2021 South American season, two in the circuits of Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil, and one vessel for itineraries in Brazil.

For the moment, it will carry out circuits in the Mediterranean Sea, the first of them for Italian passengers and access to the safest ports in the country.
