Job Losses in European Tourism Sector |

Brussels.- The European tourism sector is facing a crisis as a result of Covid-19 and the restrictions adopted to counter the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus.
According to data from the tourism industry, this activity provided employment to 23 million people, six million of whom lost their jobs due to Covid-19.
The experts recalled that tourism is a vital sector that contributes 10 percent to the Gross Domestic Product of the European Union.
Predictions point to the fact that it will take no less than two years to recover the figures that were achieved in 2019.
Faced with this, the proposal to provide a coordinated response to quarantine measures is gaining strength, in order to prevent individual actions that may affect the reopening of tourism.
