Dance Award to Outstanding Cuban Dancer |

Havana.- The director of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC), Viengsay Valdés, received the Léonide Massine Positano Dance Award in Italy.
At the 48th edition of the event, the outstanding Cuban ballerina was granted award in the category of Best Dancer on the international scene.
She is considered a dancer of high academic level, and has been distinguished for her virtuous technique and stage presence.
The international jury in charge of awarding the Léonide Massine Positano Dance Award pointed out that Valdés is also a performer of all the great roles in the repertoire in Cuba and in the world.
The jury also acknowledged that during a period, Valdés joined the great Alicia Alonso in the direction of the BNC and in 2019 she assumed the position of artistic director.
