Monday, August 10, 2020

Havana.- The central province of Villa Clara promotes the use of natural and traditional medicine, as part of actions to improve the quality of life of the population.

In the case of the Santo Domingo municipality, the agricultural sector delivered in the first six months of 2020 some 4.2 tons of medicinal plants.

The supplies include whitetop weed (410 kilograms), the sweet orange (304 kg), indigo (270 kg) and orange jasmine (260 kg), just to mention a few items.

Distributed in 14 farms, located in the municipalities and a special mountain in Escambray, 37 types of healing plants proliferate in the province.

Cuba has a total of 142 farms for the cultivation of medicinal plants in which some 42 species that are included in the basic table of medicines are cropped.
