Japanese company Interested in Doing Business with Cuba
Monday, August 10, 2020

Havana.- Mitsubishi Corporation, among the main companies in Japan, has assessed business options in Cuba, as well as imports of products from the Caribbean island.

Yamasaki Junichiro, Deputy General Manager of the company's Energy, Infrastructure and Urban Development Business Department, highlighted Cuba's efforts against Covid-19.

In addition to the already traditional trade in high-end coffee with Cuba, they are operating new businesses to purchase seafood, and will consider acquiring honey and its byproducts.

Meanwhile, Cuban diplomats in Japan mentioned the possibility that privately managed forms can export and import through state-owned companies specialized in foreign trade operations.

Last February, MC Agri Alliance, a joint venture between Mitsubishi and Olam International Limited, paid a visit to the Cumanayagua Coffee Processing Plant, in the central Cuban province of Cienfuegos.
