Cuban Canoeists for Medals in Tokyo-2021
Monday, August 10, 2020

Havana.- Cuba's best canoeists will compete in the Tokyo-2021 Olympics, where they expect to win medals.

Actions in this sport, in calm waters, will take place in the Sea Forest Waterway, and Cuba has already qualified four canoeists in the men's and women's two-seat canoes (C-2).

Among the main Cuban figures are Serguey Torres and Fernando Dayán Jorge in the C-2 at 1,000 meters, who are the favorites for the discussion of medals.

Meanwhile, the women's, made up of Katerin Nuevo and Maivihanet Borges, won Pan-American Games in Lima in 2019.

Torres and Jorge qualified directly for the Olympics in the 2019 world championships held in Szeged, Hungary, where they won the silver medal, while Nuevo and Borges qualified by reaching the final in Group A.
