Historic and Cultural Values in Central Cuba
Monday, August 10, 2020

Havana.- Historic and cultural values are widely demanded in Cuban tourism, taking into account the country's wealth in this area.

In that regard, the restoration of one of the houses-estates in the so-called Valle de los Ingenios (Sugar Mills' Valley), which was declared Humankind's Cultural Heritage, was completed.

The facility, called Buena Vista in its time, was among the most refined of its kind.

Buena Vista's restoration work was technically assisted by experts from the Office of the Curator of the City of Trinidad and Valle de los Ingenios.

For tourism, the farmhouse, in addition to the services included, offers visitors horseback excursions, a bar and a restaurant, together with the option of hiking.

Both the historic center of the city of Trinidad, some 360 kilometers east of Havana, and the Valle de los Ingenios, were declared Humankind's Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1988.
