Havana.- The first call of the Cuban Film Promotion Fund (FFCC) resulted in the presentation of 67 projects in several modalities.
According to the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), the provinces with the highest number of proposals are Artemisa, Havana, Mayabeque, Matanzas, Villa Clara, Camagüey, Las Tunas, Holguín, Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo. On this occasion, the projects correspond to Script Writing, Development and Post-production for fiction, Documentary and Animation Feature Films.
Likewise, 24 of 67 applicants are under 35 years of age, accounting for 36 percent and showing the interest that the Fund has generated among young filmmakers.
The two calls for 2020 open a new possibility for filmmaking in Cuba and strengthens the links between institutions and creators.
