Havana.- The Varadero Half Marathon, scheduled to take place at the end of next September, was postponed by the organizers to 2021.
According to experts, the decision responds to the health situation in the country due to Covid-19 and the need to maintain preventive measures.
In this way, the event, which will bring together national runners and foreign guests to complete the race in Cuba's major coastal resort, will be held on March 28.
In a statement, organizers confirmed that those registered will maintain their right to attend next year, and the reopening of places for other competitors will be announced in due time.
Besides, the racing options will be expanded, since in addition to the 21- and 10-kilometer races, and 3,000-meter race, the marathon will be added with 42 kilometers and 195 meters.
