Cuban Experts in International Panel on Covid-19 |

Havana.- Cuban experts from various sectors will join an international advisory group on the situation of the new coronavirus and the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Inter-Academies Panel chose the Cuban experts to make study teams in medical specialties related to SARS-CoV-2.
Currently, 140 national and regional Academies of Sciences are members of the agency and include science, engineering and medicine.
Cuba will be represented by Pedro Mas Bermejo, an epidemiologist and Academic of Merit from the Pedro Kourí Tropical Medicine Institute (IPK), as well as Luis Herrera, a biotechnologist, advisor to the Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Industries Group of Cuba (BioCubaFarma).
The other members of the team are Luis Carlos Silva, a statistician-mathematician from the National School of Public Health; Tania Crombet, an immunologist and academic from the Center for Molecular Immunology, and Guadalupe Guzmán Tirado, a virologist from IPK, as well as Rafael Bello, an expert in computer sciences-artificial intelligence, and Jorge Núñez, a social scientist from the University of Havana.
