Monday, July 27, 2020

Havana.- On August 15, Cuba's best wrestlers in various modalities will resume their training at the High School for the Training of High-Performance Athletes.

In early August, all wrestlers who are in their provinces of residence will go to gyms in their territory to train.

According to experts, with the aim of protecting wrestlers, two kilograms of tolerance will be given in the Elite National Championship, to be held in Santiago de Cuba province.

So far, Cuba has guaranteed 12 tickets to the Tokyo Olympics in Japan, 10 of which were won in the pre-Olympic wrestling tournament held in Ottawa, Canada, last March.

Previously, the Caribbean nation had secured two places in the 67 and 130 kilograms in the Greco-Roman style, thanks to the gold and silver medals won by Ismael Borrero and Oscar Pino, respectively.
