Homage to the National Poet Nicolás Guillén |

Havana.- The 118th birthday of National Poet Nicolás Guillén was commemorated this year on various platforms and digital media linked to Cuban culture.
The celebration was organized by the Nicolás Guillén Foundation, in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture and the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), as well as the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation-Cosude.
In addition to this, the 90th anniversary of Motivos de Son was recalled, a collection of poems first published in 1930 in the Ideales de una Raza section of Diario de la Marina.
In addition, audiovisuals were published with children, adolescents and young people, linked to the work of the institution in different territories, which speak about the importance of knowing and reading the work of the National Poet.
These activities were joined by several subsidiaries with live performances, poem readings, research and creation competitions, radio programs and virtual panels.
