Agricultural Contributions to Cuban Exports Stand Out
Monday, June 29, 2020

Havana.- The Ceballos agro-industrial company, in the province of Ciego de Ávila, has boosted production of items for export.

In this direction, sales of the Havana chili pepper stand out, with 53 tons sold in the international market from January to date.

Thanks to technological improvements, hot pepper is used at more than 82 percent, with high yield and exportable standards for the fourth consecutive year.

The Covid-19 pandemic limited the demand from France and the Netherlands, Cuba's two major clients, but among the country's few exports over the last few months, chili pepper reached other nations such as Canada.

The income reported by the Ceballos company from January to May also responded to sales of aseptic mango puree, MD-2 pineapple, fresh mango and charcoal, mainly.
