Mango Included in Cuba's Export Portfolio
Monday, June 29, 2020

Havana.- The company Cítricos Arimao, based in the central province of Cienfuegos, included mango among its main items for export.

Directors of the firm pointed out that the commercialization of the Cuban fruit is in good and acceptance demand in countries like Canada, with options to send about eight tons.

In the 1990s, that Cuban company exported mangoes, but later exports were stopped due to damages in the crops, and now it is resumed with force.

As part of the preparation of shipments for exports, production areas are certified and the process continues in the chambers for maturation.

In addition to this, in the processing line mangoes are deposited in rafts with hot water and are subjected to a rigorous process of selection according to their size.
