Cuban Cyclists to Return to Astana Club
Monday, June 29, 2020

Havana.- The Astana Women's Team summoned Cuban cyclists Arlenis Sierra and Yeima Torres to resume their training with a view to upcoming international competitions.

According to sources from that sport, the training will be resumed on July 24 in order to face the tests rescheduled by the International Cycling Union, always under rigorous health measures.

Among the main events to come are the renowned one-day Strade Bianche, scheduled for August 1 in Tuscany, as well as the World Road Championships in China, to be held in November.

The Strade Bianche, the second round of the 2020 World Tour, was suspended in early March due to the new coronavirus, forcing participants to return to their countries.

The first UCI event this year was the Cadel Evans Great Ocean, in Australia, where Sierra finished second and remained among the best route cyclists in the world with clear options to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
