Protection Measures Are Taken in Varadero
Monday, June 1, 2020

Havana.- Authorities in the western Cuban province of Matanzas took additional protection measures in Varadero, the country's major coastal resort.

According to experts, it is essential to prevent any epidemiological episode that may interfere with the normal development of that prestigious resort.

For this reason, entrance to the Hicacos Peninsula will be regulated with the objective of promoting epidemiological surveillance and avoiding the growing movement of people from other territories.

Those who work in the most diverse hotel projects in the resort, and more than 6,000 local residents will have a permit to enter and exit.

As part of the works, the Plaza América Convention Center is being refurbished, as well as the new boulevard that runs between 62nd and 64th streets.
