Cuban Laboratories Ready to Deal with Covid-19 |

Havana.- Cuba has a network of molecular biology laboratories that can diagnose Covid-19.
According to specialists, authorized centers of this type can process nearly 2,000 samples daily to determine the presence of the new coronavirus.
The laboratories are those of the Pedro Kourí Tropical Medicine Institute, and the Provincial Centers in Havana, Villa Clara and Santiago de Cuba.
In addition, those of the Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital, the centers of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, and the Civil Defense Research Center were incorporated.
The number of samples analyzed daily is determined by the number of contacts of confirmed or suspected cases, so if the number of Covid-19 positive patients decreases, there are fewer contacts and tests to process.
