Cuba Assembles Russian An-2 Aircraft
Monday, June 1, 2020

Havana.- Cuban experts took over the assembly in the country of Russian-made An-2 aircraft, which will benefit sectors such as agriculture and tourism.

According to the plans, this work is carried out in a workshop that belongs to Empresa Nacional de Servicios Aéreos (ENSA).

The An-2 is a safe aircraft, but due to its flight autonomy it does not have the ability to travel from Russia to Cuba, so they arrive in containers by sea.

With more than 1,500 units in operation, this aircraft accounts for about 90 percent of the existing small aircraft sector in Russia.

For its part, ENSA provides services to the business sector and communities, related to the dispersal of chemical and biological products, technical maintenance, patrol and firefighting, cargo transportation and sports parachuting.
