Vietnam and Cuba Develop Agricultural Cooperation |

Havana.- The cooperation project to develop rice crops by Vietnam and Cuba entered the fifth stage of execution in Ciego de Avila province.
This initiative allows the participation of Vietnamese advisers to train small producers in the central region and supports them with equipment for soil leveling.
Among the benefits of the Vietnam-Cuba rice project there is an increase in farmers' knowledge and improvements in attention to crops, as well as the contribution of resources, including tractors to prepare the land, harvesters and implements.
Likewise, the use of techniques such as transplant sowing has doubled the yields from 2.5 to five tons per hectare.
In addition to this, organic fertilizers such as laibono, codafol and bayfolán are used, which provide several of the nutritional elements essential for the normal vegetative development of the grain.
