Cuban Leads Open Online Poomsae Tournament
Monday, May 18, 2020

Havana.- Cuban fighter Dario Navarro Riquelme finished in the fifth individual position at the 1st European Online Open Poomsae Tournament, which was attended by competitors from 75 countries.

The Cuban fighter was preceded by Jui Tse Yu (Taiwan), Sergei Vinnikov (Russia), Muhamed Rizar (Indonesia) and Ethan Moraleda (United States), who were followed by Yasin Zandi (Iran), Joshua Tobin (United Kingdom) and Alejandro Córdoba (Mexico), who finished in the positions from sixth to eighth, in that order.

Taekwondo federations in Cuba highlighted the work of Navarro, recognizing that his fifth place fills fans of that sport with pride on Cuba.

Around 1,200 competitors from 75 countries participated in the contest, while an international jury evaluated the demonstrations for several working days.
