Cuban Laboratories Support Covid-19 Research
Monday, April 6, 2020

Havana.- Cuba has the necessary facilities in laboratories to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

For this, the necessary reagents were imported and distributed in three specialized centers in Villa Clara, Santiago de Cuba and Havana.

In the latter territory, the Pedro Kourí Tropical Medicine Institute (IPK) operates as a benchmark for the rest of the centers in the country.

Suspicious cases and groups who could pose a risk and outbreaks because they show respiratory infections are currently being studied.

The country has financial support to guarantee diagnoses, with a daily processing capacity of up to 1,000 tests per day in those centers.
