Olympic Objective in Cuban Sports Agenda
Monday, April 6, 2020

Havana.- Cuban sports authorities have as their medium-term priorities the country's participation in the Tokyo Olympics, scheduled for next year.

In this sense, the preparation of the athletes will be adjusted to the extent possible by the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to establishing priorities in the process.

According to the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), the preparation will be redesigned on the basis of 41 athletes who already have their Olympic tickets.

As a second moment of this new design, the priority for the sports pending for classification was indicated, including boxing, which is one of the most prominent sports to win medals.

A third group is made up of the remaining members of a shortlist made up of 253 athletes, with options to reach the spot in Tokyo.
