Number of Tourists in Varadero Beach Drops
Monday, March 30, 2020

Havana.- At the beginning of March the Varadero beach resort, the main sun and beach destination in the island, registered a minimum of foreign visitors.

There were some 800 foreign tourists in several of the facilities at the time, a figure likely to drop further.

All local hotels have been imposing measures to deal with the new SARS CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes COVID-19, similar to those of any other area in the Caribbean nation.

To understand the effectiveness of the measures, it should suffice to say that on the first day of applying restrictions, there were 32,000 visitors in Varadero.
