Havana.- Cuba´s Interferon Alpha 2b Recombinant Human drug, developed by specialists from the island, is now attracting the glances of experts in more than 45 nations.
As of lately, Interferon has been part of care protocols for cases of the new Covid-19 coronavirus, with positive results.
This drug came out of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) in the second half of the 1980s.
Thanks to its antiviral properties, it is added to the list of the most used drugs in the protocols of many countries to face the global epidemic of Covid-19.
The Cuban drug is capable of supplementing the deficiency of interferon in the body, strengthening the immune system of patients afflicted with respiratory ailments.
