Monday, March 30, 2020

Havana.- Several top-ranking Cuban athletes have been evaluated in a closed door session at the Pan American Stadium here.

Insiders have highlighted Olympic champion Davisleydis Velazco, who reached 14.34 meters in the triple jump for ladies, two centimeters more than those required to classify for the Tokyo Olympics.

During the same test, Liadagmis Povea came on top, after jumping to 14.45 meters. A previous mark allowed her to classify for the Olympic competition in Japan.

Meanwhile, Rose Mary Almanza twice covered the 800 meters registering less than two minutes.

Likewise, in the speed tests Reynier Mena ran the 200 meters in 20.37 seconds, while the 4x100 relay covered the distance in 38:90 seconds.
