Eastern Cuba Ready to Prevent Respiratory Infections |

Havana.- Cuba’s eastern province of Santiago has called for the measures to prevent the spread of acute respiratory infections.
According to specialists, this is a seasonal campaign that will lead to consolidating surveillance, treatment and prevention.
They recalled that viruses are the most frequent cause of such ailments as common colds, bronchiolitis, pneumonia and bronchopneumonia.
Other frequent causes are associated with respiratory syncytial virus, rhinovirus, parainfluenzas A and B, among other agents.
People in risk groups are prioritized in influenza vaccination campaigns, to prevent severe forms of respiratory infections.
