Informatics Boosts Health Services in Eastern Cuba |

Havana.- Health services in the eastern Cuban province of Santiago are resorting to the Imagis computer to ensure better results in diagnosing diseases.
Imagis allows visualization, transmission and storage of medical images. A new version is currently being installed.
Thanks to cooperation with the Vlir project, established between the University of Oriente and Belgium, the program has come to 28 hospitals, 23 in the eastern area and five in the capital.
In addition, it facilitates access to computer equipment that includes display stations, professional servers and printers, among other means.
Experts are also working on a new version using Android operating system, which will allow medical specialists to make case inquiries from their own cell phone or other devices.
