Villa Clara Province Bets on Sugar Cane By-products
Monday, February 24, 2020

Havana.- Cuba’s central province of Villa Clara has registered commendable results in producing sugarcane derivatives.

From January to date it has yielded 17,360 hectoliters of alcohol for public health use, while manufacturing beverages for tourism, national consumption and exports.

In addition, it processed 20,692 tons of refined sugar, amounting to 77 percent of the plan for the period, and two thousand 250 hectoliters of rum.

Delays in sugar refining obey to the lack of biomass in several of the plants that use that residue as fuel for their operations.
