Cuban Rowers Gear Up for pre-Olympic Tournament
Monday, February 24, 2020

Havana.- First line Cuban rowers are putting the final touches to their training season, ahead of Las Americas Pre-Olympic Tournament, to be held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

Local rowing officials pointed out that the event will be attended by singles of the open category (m and f), Angel Fournier and Yariulvis Cobas.

The team will be completed with Cubans Rayma Ortiz and Milena Venega, and Osvaldo Pérez and Alexei Caballosa, in the double light pairs (2x, light).

Experts emphasize that three positions will be disputed in the event’s single competitions (m and f), with five competing in the double light pair (m and f).

Prior to the tournament, Fournier, Olympic finalist in Rio de Janeiro 2016 and multi-medalist in world championships and cups, and the Ortiz-Venega duo, will travel to Mexico to train under high altitude conditions.
