Camaguey Province Shows Positive Performance in Children's Health |

Havana.- The Neonatology service of the Ana Betancourt Hospital in Camagüey closed 2019 with a positive balance in health indicators.
The hospital tended to nearly two thousand newborns, registering a 99,9 percent surviving rate.
Working together with the Perinatology ward, Neonatology helped maintain a child mortality rate below two for the fourth consecutive year.
Neonatology offers procedures such as non-invasive ventilation, neuroprotection and peritoneal dialysis in newborns.
The most frequent complication was delayed intrauterine growth, when the baby does not reach normal weight during pregnancy, due to several factors.
Among them are the mother's diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension and malnutrition.
