Havana.- Holguin’s Territorial Oncology Center has a new tomographer, which will benefit patients attending radiotherapy sessions.
According to specialists, the tomographer will facilitate greater precision in the treatment of cancer and the reduction of the area exposed to radiation.
The new technology is in the assembly phase and allows faster and more effective therapies, and can also be used in diagnosing tumors.
According to experts radiotherapy is a technique used to kill cancer cells, adding that sessions vary according to the location of the lesion.
It can usually be used in combination with chemotherapy or surgery to eliminate malignant tumors.
