State-of-the-Art Technology for Cuban Tourism
Monday, February 10, 2020

Havana.- Tourist works in Varadero Beach, Cuba’s main beach resort, have been benefitting from Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology.

Insiders claim that BIM allows the designing of 3-D structures, thus ensuring higher accuracy in construction.

That method is being successfully applied by the Architecture and Engineering Projects Enterprise (EMPAI) in the province of Matanzas, as the principal entity responsible for designing works in Varadero.

Architects, engineers and technicians resort to an electronic mock-up as they work on the Oasis complex, which will include a mall and two hotels provided with a total of 1,098 rooms.

BIM technology was also used to erect Meliá Varadero International Hotel, which opened in 2019 featuring all-included services and provided with more than 900 rooms.
