Havana.- Cuban medical staff from the Henry Reeve Detachment has joined the health post currently open at the island’s embassy in China.
Expert in infectious diseases and pediatrician Ileana Alvarez and general practitioner and expert in infectious diseases Rafael Arocha, are now working in Beijing, led by Yamira Palacios, head of the headquarters for Medical Services Marketing Inc. and of the Cuban Medical Brigade in China.
The provisional clinic will be servicing Cubans, while simultaneously keeping track of the Corona-virus epidemics and supporting the embassy staff in promoting disease prevention.
Cuban ambassador to China, Carlos Miguel Pereira, has confirmed that no Cuban citizen in that country has been infected so far with Corona-virus, which has already killed 361 and infected 17,238 Chinese.
Since the outbreak of the virus, the embassy and consulates in Shanghai and Guangzhou have been in permanent contact with all Cubans in China.
