Camagüey Focuses on Skin Cancer Research
Monday, February 10, 2020

Havana.- The Cuban province of Camaguey is relying on its Dermatology and Oncology services to promote the early detection of malignant lesions of the skin.

With this in mind, the local health system has been marking the so called “Day of the Skin Mole” for the last ten years, devoted to specialized lectures, aimed at publicizing ways to detecting cancer in its early stages.

Public institutions and hospitals host activities to teach the public how to detect lesions and when to seek medical support.

One of the best known methods is to prevent over exposure to the sun and wear clothes that cover most of our bodies.

Protective creams are also advised to counteract the effects of ultraviolet rays and try to walk on the shady side of the streets.
