Havana.- Cuba’s health system is promoting actions to prevent cancer, the second most frequent cause of death in the island.
Most registered deaths are linked to tumors in the trachea, bronchial tubes and lungs, both for women and men.
In the specific case of men, prostate cancer is the second cause of death, with breast cancer being a leading killer among women.
Accordingly, health authorities are bent on giving prior attention to the disease, through inter-sector and community participation.
A multi-level and all-embracing system is boosting novel treatments and more efficient medicines.
