New Crop of Health Professionals Graduate in Cuba
Monday, January 27, 2020

Havana.- A batch of 550 nurse technicians will soon be joining their older colleagues in Cuba, after graduating from the island country's Medical Sciences School at the University of Havana.

All new specialists are part of the national health system’s programs to strengthen and improve the quality of services for the population.

According to insiders, Cuban nurses are considered the main working force in the national health system.

First Cuban nurses graduated in 1902, and years later Cuba became the first country to have nursing as a university career.

Nurses have made great contributions in the creation of health areas and polyclinics.
