Las Tunas Province Prioritizes Medical Genetics
Monday, January 27, 2020

Havana.- The eastern Cuban province of Las Tunas is giving priority to its Genetics Program, conceived to prevent congenital malformations.

According to experts, such anomalies were the main cause for regional infant mortality in 2019, hence the urge to take measures that will guarantee the survival of newborns.

With this in mind, the Mother-Child Program and the Provincial Group for that specialty are leading the campaign to ensure genetic reproductive health.

In line with this goal consultants and nurses are giving lectures and assessing people at places where the population in reproductive age concentrate, namely workers and students.
