Cuba to Invest on Hydraulic Development
Monday, January 27, 2020

Havana.- Developing its hydraulic infrastructure is one of Cuba’s current priorities, with eyes set on guaranteeing running water to consumers and the production of food items.

The sector’s authorities claim that some 100 million dollars are being allocated annually to maintain and implement water decanting projects and related works.

The island is currently relying on 10 water decanting systems with unequal use, to which one million Cuban pesos will be allocated for maintenance works in 2020.

The country’s hydraulic infrastructure covers a 292 kilometer network of channels, conductors and tunnels, capable of decanting 262 million cubic meters of water annually.

The enterprise ensures the even distribution of water nationwide, by decanting it from locations where it abounds to places of scarce hydraulic resources.
