Cuban Shooters Ready for Tokio-2020
Monday, January 27, 2020

Havana.- Cuban sports shooters are readying for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, with special attention going to the five members of the national team who have already classified.

Sports authorities in the island country say the best strategy has been put into practice for the team and recalled that shooters Leuris Pupo, Jorge Félix Alvarez, Laina Pérez, Jorge Grau y Eglys de la Cruz are already classified.

All of them, except for Pupo, got classified for the Olympics during the Pan-American Games in Lima, Peru, but Pupo - who won gold in London 2012 in fast pistol -, had already passed the test in the Pan-American Cup in 2018.

Pupo and Alvarez will be training for two months in Peru, while Laina, Grau and Eglys will do likewise in el Salvador.
