Miami Port reaches record transient passengers
Monday, January 20, 2020

Washington.- The Port of Miami, in the US state of Florida, registered the record figure of 6,8 million transient passengers in 2019.

According to local authorities, this is a 22 percent rise compared to 2018.

Such growth derives, among other factors, from the expansion of business and the creation of infrastructures, such as the MSC Cruisers, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line.

By the end of 2018, Miami's port received the largest ship in the world, the Symphony of the Seas, which belongs to Royal Caribbean and can accommodate 6,680 passengers.

Norwegian Cruise Line added 4,000 passengers Norwegian Bliss – built by Meyer Werf in Papenburg, Germany -, to its fleet, while Carnival Cruise Line added the Carnival Horizon.
