Havana.- The “Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja” Children's Hospital in the Eastern Province of Holguín, has established itself the goal of improving the attention given to severely handicapped children.

The institution has readied one of its wards to install the latest technologies, while simultaneously improving conditions for mother and infants care.

The brand new ward will be tending to children suffering from static lesion in their central nervous system, as in the cases of cerebral palsy and neurodegenerative ailments.

Also tended will be craneo-encephalic traumas, which include hemiplegia among its aftereffects and new born subject to intensive therapy.

The ward will be provided with two dozen beds and intensive and intersectorial services, extending to such specialties as Orthopedics and Neurology.
