Havana.- Cuba’s Sports Hunting Federation is reaching its 40 anniversary amid relentless efforts to maintain the recreational nature of its activities and the protection of the environment.
Such efforts meet reality by means of safeguarding endangered fauna, putting into practice sanitary hunting and protecting woods.
Hunters in the federation hunt wild dogs that attack livestock in packs as well as wild birds that prey on planted fields.
Members do research on migrant birds and keep away poachers who endanger the local environment.
The federation was founded on January 17, 1980 and today boasts over 42,000 members nationwide.
