Cuba Boosts Construction Materials Industry
Monday, January 13, 2020

Havana.- Central Geomining Enterprise in the province of Villa Clara will soon start operating three industries to produce construction materials.

The goal is to bring such materials closer to their final destination, allowing saving fuel.

The aforementioned plants will produce ceiling elements, blocks and tiles to support the construction of family houses in the province and adjacent territories.

In 2019, the Central Geomining Enterprise turned out over 19,700 tons of calcium carbonate out of an original goal of 18,700. Out of the former figure, the enterprise devoted 6,800 tons to make animal fodder.

It also extracted 25,211 tons of zeolite, of which 6,400 went to the fertilizing industry and another 7,000 to agriculture.
