Cuban Economy Favors Ecological Protection
Monday, January 13, 2020

Havana.- Cuba’s economy is prioritizing the protection of the environment, as demonstrated by the various projects that have come into force to date.

Such is the case of the gas supply plant functioning from burnt rice skin in the western province of Pinar del Río.

This is a project developed by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), with financing from the European Union and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (COSUDE).

Adding to such endeavors is the Center for the Reproduction of Entomophagus and Entomopathogenics (CREE) in Güira de Melena, province of Artemisa.

There are also nine teaching estates devoted to the adaptation to climate changes.
