Cuban Pelotari Gear Up for Major World Events
Monday, January 13, 2020

Havana.- Cuba's Basque pelota players are looking forward to big winnings worldwide, according to Yasmary de la Caridad Medina, a double medal winner at Lima’s Panamerican Games.

Cuban sports authorities are keen on having their team playing at the World Cup this year, as the island is pinning its hopes on a new harvest of golds.

Another most wished for event is the World Pelota Court of 30 meters, likely to be played at the central province of Cienfuegos.

Medina has won three world titles, and another three gold medals at Panamerican games, as well as silver in Central American and Caribbean competitions.
