Casa de las Americas Readies Ample Cultural Agenda for 2020 |

Havana.- Cuban time-honored cultural institution Casa de las Americas has started 2020 by rolling out a fresh agenda that runs the gamut from the heritage of African roots in the island and elsewhere to its traditional literary prize.
The 3rd Forum of Intercultural Workshops on Identity and Representation of People of African Descent will be coupled this year with the 61st edition of Casa de las Americas Literary Prize, in which regional writers will be vying for awards in the categories of short stories, drama and artistic and literary inspired essays. Works from Brazil and written in French and Creole will also be included.
Judges from 10 countries will have the final say in the contest and later exchange views with audiences attending the awarding ceremony. The event is programmed to launch books, open art exhibitions and host concerts.
