Monday, January 13, 2020

Havana.- Some 30,000 visitors from nearly a hundred countries came to the Firefighters’ Museum in the province of Matanzas in 2019, attracted by the institution’s exhibits from Cuba and around the world.

Caps, monograms, office items, stamps, stickers, backpacks, uniforms ands banners are displayed at the International Hall of the institution, which was restored in 2018, at Matanzas’ Vigía Square.

Foreign tourists visiting the museum last year mostly came from Germany, France, Russia, Australia and all over the Americas.

Enrique Estrada Firehouse, which opened on August 12th 1900, is the oldest of its kind and is still active in the island country, where it is considered a live museum.
