Havana.- In 2019, Cuba's tourist industry had a busy calendar of events, which became real attractions for the sector.
The list of events included the MITM Americas, dedicated to congresses, meetings and incentive trips, and Fotosub to promote underwater photography.
One of the most important events was the 12th International Nature Tourism Event (TURNAT 2019), with the attention of specialists in the subject from many parts of the world.
In addition, the Cuban capital, the main urban center of the country, celebrated its 500th anniversary with several inaugurations and activities of all kinds.
Some 27 joint ventures operate in the tourism sector, including 94 administration contracts and 19 management contracts, which account for 44,000 rooms, 62 percent of the existing rooms in the country.
