Informatics in Cuban Healthcare System
Monday, December 9, 2019

Havana.- The Cuban healthcare system relies on its development in information and communication technologies, with a view to improving care for the population.

Projects in this area focus on digital medical records and epidemiological surveillance, coupled with the option of extending benefits to medical records.

The Directorate of Informatics, which leads the process in the sector, is working on several prioritized projects related to digital patient records, telemedicine and health surveillance.

This way, the Galen Clinicas management system, developed by the Cuban company Softel, works at the hospital level to guarantee digital medical records.

The Galen Clinicas can be adjusted to the new network that is being modified in blood banks, which presents new programming technology to improve the processes in those facilities.
